Last week, myAPPetite welcomed year 10 student Tom, from Hagley Roman Catholic High School, on work experience.

Tom has a keen interest in technology and would naturally like to progress working in a career around technology and coding. With this in mind he asked to join myAPPetite in Kidderminster to help provide some valuable
work-experience, which MyAPPetite were more than happy to help with.

Tom commented “It’s been a really busy but beneficial week. myAPPetite were prepping for a large vegan festival for the following weekend, so I was lucky
enough to get involved with that. It was a large order prepping 34 EPOS Systems,
PocketTouch and their Business Software. Everyone chipped in as we had a deadline to fulfil the order which we completed in time.

“Other than working on the Vegan festival, I learned the Support and Marketing side of the business. I was tasked to add menu items to a customer’s online ordering to help in the application for their app and researched potential
future business to target with marketing campaigns, among other responsibilities.”

Operations Director, Jamie Turvey, stated: “It was great to have Tom working with us last week, he’s an incredibly knowledgeable student and really helped out with regards to the Vegan Festival we had to prep for.

“All of us at myAPPetite were incredibly appreciative of Tom’s efforts and wish him all the best in the future and I’m sure he’ll be successful in any career he pursues.”

Tom concluded: “It’s been such a valuable, informative and enjoyable experience for me. I am grateful for the opportunities that myAPPetite has given me to learn what goes on inside of a workplace, and how to
work professionally and efficiently. The whole team has been so friendly and
welcoming, and I would like to thank them all.”
