We understand we have a corporate social responsibility here at myAPPetite and feel strongly giving back to charities or organisations that offer hope and support to so many.

This is why we’ve set ourselves a mission to raise £1,000 every year for a chosen charity, which we hope to achieve by doing a number of challenges throughout the year.

Keep an eye on this page for regular updates.

2023 Chosen Charity: The William Mills Foundation

The William Mills Foundation is a charity that is very close to Managing Director’s, Andy Simmonds, heart.

Andy commented: “Will was an integral part of the football team I coached for the best part of 10 years, he was a naturally talented footballer but more importantly a cracking lad with an infectious attitude of positivity. He always had a smile and became a good friend over the years. What the charity (in particular Victoria – William’s mother) have done is just incredible. As a new trustee I am extremely proud that we as a business can support and aid the charity to continue to do their incredible work.”

The Foundation was founded in June 2018, following the tragic death of William Mills. In the first days following his death, Will’s family found it difficult to direct the offers of help and donations that quite naturally came from friends and family. With an over whelming need to feel that something positive may come from Will’s death, over the weeks that followed, the William Mills Foundation moved from concept to reality.

“Will was absolutely a giver and was my mentor every time I couldn’t cut it on my own, and he can still be that for these young people”

Will was always smiling. His philosophy on life was to enjoy it and live it; he actually lit up a room when he walked in. When explaining to one of Will’s friends what we hope to achieve through The William Mills Foundation he replied, “Will was absolutely a giver and was my mentor every time I couldn’t cut it on my own, and he can still be that for these young people.”

Since 2018, they’ve been supporting vulnerable young people through educational programmes, workshops and mentorship.

They are passionate about providing young people with opportunity and pathways that they may not otherwise be able to access. Since the launch in 2018, they have had resounding success, effectively launching multiple programmes, as well as working with schools and organisations in the Worcestershire area.

However, as with most charities, donations are essential in the survival of The William Mills Foundation and the more they receive, the more they can offer hope to vulnerable young people throughout the local area. This is why we, at myAPPetite, feel like it’s such an important charity to help support.

Our Goal...

From the start of the year we’ve set out to raise £1,000 for The William Mills Foundation. With the success of the Charity Quiz Night earlier in the year we’ve managed to raise just over half the amount. With our future events planned we’re hoping to be able to acheive our goal.

Thank you to everyone that is helping us reach our goal and supporting The William Mills Foundation.

June 2023 Update…

After just our second event of the year we’re over the moon to announce that we’ve managed to smash our target. Having raised just over £1,000 at The Millsy ’97 5-a-side Football Tournament, we surpassed our target amount of £1,000 and have now raised £1,598.
We are all thrilled knowing that this money will help massively to an important local charity. However, we’re not stopping there. We have now adapted our goal to £2,000. Keep your eyes peeled for future event announcements.
